It's Only a Play
It’s Only a Play
Sept. 6 - 16
It’s the opening night of The Golden Egg on Broadway. The wealthy producer Julia Budder is
throwing a lavish party in her Manhattan townhouse. As celebrities pour in downstairs, the excitable
playwright, talented yet unstable director, pill-popping lead actress, and the playwright’s best friend
have barricaded themselves upstairs awaiting reviews. This show is a prime recipe for narcissism,
ambition, childishness, and just plain irrationality that infuse the theatre.
